The sheer exhilaration and joy of experiencing life is something babies know. Innocent and excited about getting from one place to another they begin to use their bodies and feel the flows of life moving them.
Sadly, early on we are taught to stop moving with this natural love of engagement and begin to enter a muted, black and white world of trying, accomplishing, acquiring, competing. We are taught to be aspirational, always trying to get better, to accomplish things, by a culture that covets and worships competition. It grows humans who are separated from their spirits and their creativity. And most important, we become lost in a prison of self-centeredness that tells us the only way out is to keep focusing on ourselves, getting what we can, trying to be perfect. What we lose is knowing that we are meant to dance only for the pure sake of dancing, and when we do that we light up our world. When we rejoice in others finding their expressions, we, ourselves, are uplifted and inspired. When we move to the rhythms that are true to us, when we raise our children, and help each other, to find these true rhythms, we are in a field of light, where all kinds of energies have the room and space to join us. We enjoy a love of learning and creating, rather than an ego need to be found worthy by others.
